The Vietnam you know ends where the laterite begins. Recently, our teams went off the grid. GPS off, radios silent. By choice. We were in Ngan Son, in the heights of Bac Kan province, where the lines on the map start to blur.
Our mission: To finalize an entirely new, off-road circuit, exclusive to 4WD Vietnam. A journey you won’t find in any guidebook, born from our obsession with authentic expeditions and life-changing encounters.

Into the land of "thuoc lao"
First, there’s the stubborn mist clinging to the ridges, a soft smoke rising from the valleys. Then, something in the air, a nearly invisible haze.
It’s the scent of thuoc lao, the raw, powerful tobacco that villagers dry under dark wooden eaves covered in traditional tiles. It’s more than a crop; it’s the heartbeat of hamlets frozen in time, where the welcome is shared over a water pipe and a steady gaze.
Real tracks, real dirt
Our Land Cruisers were back in their element here. Forget the asphalt: we’re talking technical crossings, red earth caked onto tires, and forest trails that must be earned. This is pure, demanding 4×4, miles away from sanitized convoys. It’s everything we love, and it’s what we’re preparing for you.
